DHS Hearts Buzzworded Jargonification – and Irony

With thanks to the HSDL, who posted about it yesterday, the Department of Homeland Security has released their Open Government Plan (364KB PDF!) this week. It is a typical DHS piece of overwrought self-promotion and nigh-indecipherable executive jargon, which should come as no surprise.

If you like to play “buzzword bingo”, well, this report is for you.

If you’re a friend of irony, you’ll probably enjoy the report as well, albeit for reasons I suspect DHS never intended.

Allow me to quote a couple paragraphs, if I may. These are section 2.2 in its entirety, and the first paragraph of section 2.3; in other words, these follow one another, with no break in between…
