Italian porn starlet Milly D’Abbraccio is just the most recent in a long line of “talent” from the adult-entertainment industry to run for political office - in this case, apparently, for mayor of Rome. (As a whole, these folks give the idea of politicians “having nothing to hide” a whole new meaning.) While much about her campaign is - predictably enough - somewhat entertaining, a comment in a wire service article made me laugh out loud. Speaking of an Italian member of parliament from the 1980s, infamous for her “impromptu stripteases”, Ms. D’Abbraccio apparently said - and presumably speaking with the voice of experience, here - “Public nudity isn’t the guaranteed attention-grabber it once was”.

Huh. Who knew?
