Pseudoclassification and More
The government and the military have in the past received a lot of criticism for their rampant overclassification and, every bit as annoyingly, pseudoclassification, of records and documents. We’re all pretty familiar with the common, widespread terms - For Official Use Only, for example - and the wide variety of supposedly superceded markings - Eyes Only, No Foreign Dissemination. Then there was the stuff people just made up to sound important - “Law Enforcement Sensitive” and “Sensitive But Unclassified” are two that come immediately to mind.
