One of the best solutions for securing portable digital media (flash drives, thumb drives, and the like) is the open-source encryption suite TrueCrypt. Within the limitations of what it does, it’s a great program. It doesn’t try to do everything; just handles one task very, very well, using some impressive encryption options to protect data of any sort from prying eyes. There’s a problem, though, and it’s potentially huge.
