Three Years Later

It’s been three years, almost to the week, since Twin Cities filmmaker Melody Gilbert began work on Urban Explorers: Into the Darkness, the first major documentary about urban exploration and some of the people behind this unusual activity. It’s been a long time to wait, but no longer - it’s finally finished.

How’s Your Salami?

I managed to catch the second airing of the second episode of the SciFi Channel’s new show The Dresden Files tonight. In many ways, it was an improvement over the pilot, and it’ll be interesting to see how things have changed when the show returns in two weeks’ time.

Intruders and Heart Attacks

My home office is at the back of the building, looking out on the back yard. Depending on which desk I’m sitting at, I’m either sort of facing the windows, or have my back to them. Just now, I was sitting with my back to the window. There’s nobody else here, save the kitties, and I have the radio on.

There was a pounding on the window, about eight feet behind me. Swear to the gods, I must have jumped a foot in the air. I spun around, wondering who was in the backyard, and why, and where the nearest can of pepper spray was. My heart was pounding; someone’d just scared the bejeesus out of me.

Has WordPress Lost it’s Way?

Wordpress 2.1 is out, hot on the heels of 2.0.7. The much-anticipated (by some) new version includes a breathtaking plethora of features that makes me (again) suspect WordPress is really starting to lose it’s way. Let’s run thru them, shall we?

The Dresden Files

When I first saw ads on TV last week for the SciFi channel’s new series The Dresden Files, I was intrigued. Being one of the many, many people who’ve read the complete adventures of Harry Dresden, and having occasionally opined “they oughta make a movie outta that”, I was eager to see how it would be treated, and how close to the original they’d keep it. Tonight, I got that opportunity.
