Interesting Parallels

The disappearance two weeks ago of a Adam Air 737 near Indonesia bears some striking similarities, for anyone who remembers such things, to the disappearance more than twenty years ago of another passenger jet in the Pacific region - Korean Airlines flight 7 - better known as flight KAL 007.

Offshore Piracy

The moderately - at least - wealthy pirates of The Pirate Bay, the one-stop bittorrent destination for all manner of (pirated) games, movies, music, and more, have come up with another in a long line of stupid ideas seemingly generated to generate publicity, and milk their visitors for money.

On Abandonment

Of the broad array of “creative works” that can be and are copyrighted, computer software may well be unique in it’s inevitable technological obsolescence. Novels, paintings, music, and photographs created decades ago are still popular, and enjoyable, and being sold and used. Only software, it seems, has such a short marketable lifespan.
