I hate online photo labs

Online photo labs have to be the least user-friendly places on earth. Adorama, the suckier of the two big NYC photo stores, has an Adorama Pix website which used to be super easy to use. Quality was pretty good, and the prices were excellent. I used them a lot. But now the little retards got rid of their “print wizard” program, making it unsupported, and forcing people to sign up for this web-based interface with all sorts of bells-and-whistles and crap that I neither want nor would ever use. It’s a moot point, though, because their website doesn’t play nice with my computer and Firefox, so I can’t actually upload anything, anyway. Fuckers.

Based on some recommendations on the hell-hole of elitist buttwipes that is photo.net, I thought I’d give Mpix a try. Prints cost two to three times as much as at Adorama, shipping is more expensive, and a lot of the “features” they offer have irritating restrictions in effect… but, hey, if they’re good, I’d put up with that.

Moot point, again, because their website is even more user-unfriendly than Adorama’s (and that’s saying something, let me tell you!), and though I managed to upload the seven images I want printed… their cropping tool (which I don’t want, because I uploaded pre-sized images) is so unbelievably stupid… and doesn’t work for me, in Firefox or IE. So fuck them, too.

So it’s down to my local lab I go, CD-R in hand, to pay even more than Mpix for a handful of prints of middling quality… Joy.

Freepers… so out of touch!

According to the the Lone Star Iconoclast, nutjobs from Freeperland are condemning Cindy Sheehan and her supporters as “un-American” because they “have ties with communists”.

I mean… Communists? That’s the best they can come up with? Kids, the Red Menace is long past; this isn’t the 1950’s, and baseless allegations of being a pinko Bolshevik sympathizer just don’t have the weight they did fifty years ago. As attacks go, that’s right up there with calling Cindy “short”.

Fuckin’ Freepers… still clueless after all these years.

3000 Republicans at an all-you-can-eat buffet

While out for a walk this morning, I happened across a little scene that, as a video, I call3000 Republicans at an all-you-can-eat buffet. It’s probably work-safe, but I wouldn’t watch it if you’re eating, or have just eaten; that wrigglyness isn’t a video compression artifact, but, um… well, you’ll figure it out.

About 800Kb; 25 seconds, Window$ Media format. Apologies to Mac users…

The Road to War With Iran

Joy. Defense Secretary Ronald Dumbsfeld is now claiming that weapons of “clearly Iranian” origin are showing up in Iraq.

He won’t provide any proof, of course. Because Bu$h Co. is so big on repeating history, they probably plan on having that freak Bolton brandish an “Iranian” assault rifle on the floor of the U.N., as “proof” that something needs to be done to Iran.

Never mind all the American-made weapons showing up in Iraq…
