I hate online photo labs

Online photo labs have to be the least user-friendly places on earth. Adorama, the suckier of the two big NYC photo stores, has an Adorama Pix website which used to be super easy to use. Quality was pretty good, and the prices were excellent. I used them a lot. But now the little retards got rid of their “print wizard” program, making it unsupported, and forcing people to sign up for this web-based interface with all sorts of bells-and-whistles and crap that I neither want nor would ever use. It’s a moot point, though, because their website doesn’t play nice with my computer and Firefox, so I can’t actually upload anything, anyway. Fuckers.

Based on some recommendations on the hell-hole of elitist buttwipes that is, I thought I’d give Mpix a try. Prints cost two to three times as much as at Adorama, shipping is more expensive, and a lot of the “features” they offer have irritating restrictions in effect… but, hey, if they’re good, I’d put up with that.

Moot point, again, because their website is even more user-unfriendly than Adorama’s (and that’s saying something, let me tell you!), and though I managed to upload the seven images I want printed… their cropping tool (which I don’t want, because I uploaded pre-sized images) is so unbelievably stupid… and doesn’t work for me, in Firefox or IE. So fuck them, too.

So it’s down to my local lab I go, CD-R in hand, to pay even more than Mpix for a handful of prints of middling quality… Joy.
