What medication is he on?

Quotes from the Great Deceiver to reporters, 16 January 2005, in italics, with comments.

[T]here’s no question we’ve got to continue to do a better job of explaining what America is all about; that in our country you’re free to worship as you see fit, that we honor the Muslim faith…

Indeed, our government honors the Muslim faith with racial and ethnic profiling, and in a recent poll some thirty percent of Americans supported and endorsed making Muslims second-class citizens by restricting and eroding their civil rights and liberties.

So I believe that when it’s all said and done, those in the Muslim world who long for peace will see that the policies of this government will lead to peace.

Nope. Not going to happen. How anyone can be so stupid as to express this ridiculous sentiment is beyond me.

I am realistic about how quickly a society that has been dominated by a tyrant can become a democracy.

Indeed, and it’s a very good point. Repairing the damage, and recovering from the widespread fraud, lies, and deception inflicted on this country by the Great Deceiver and his minions will take years. The rehabilitation of all those who voted for the Great Deceiver, and their conversion into intelligent, productive individuals capable of participating in an honest democracy could take even longer.

I’m also mindful that it takes a while for democracy to take hold. Witness our own history. We…certainly were not the perfect democracy and are yet the perfect democracy.

No, nor are we the perfect communist state. We’re not a communist state, or a democracy of any sort, but a highly stratified theocratic empire with 10% of the people having 90% of the power.

[P]eople will…some point in time realize that George W. Bush cared deeply about failure and mediocrity and did something about it.

I think people already well realize that the Great Deceiver cares deeply about failure and mediocrity. HAVA, No Child Left Behind, all the so-called environmental reform, the war on terror, American foreign policy as a whole, the Defense of Marriage Act, supposed intelligence reform, the USA PATRIOT act… all miserable failures attesting to the mediocrity of the Great Deceiver’s unjust administration and it’s actions.

It’s so cold…

The upper midwest has been enjoying the ecstatic joys of bitter winter weather – subzero highs, Fahrenheit, with wind-chills exceeding -30F. A great time to be indoors, snuggled up under blankets with cats and loved ones…

However, I realized tonight we might actually be cold enough here (-8F), high enough (~900 feet above sea level), and with low enough relative humidity (55%) to try out a dubious experiment I’d read about but never able to try, that of making a cup full of water disappear like a Republican’s campaign promises after the election.

A cup full of boiling water in hand, I went to the front door, opened it, and let fly with the water. Poof! Hot water flew into the air, instantly turning into vapor as it travelled thru the subzero air. Repeated, in the interests of science, of course, I did it a few more times, inexplicably amused by this pointless display of physics.

Mind you, this only works for Democrats; right-wing losers can only make something out of nothing, not vice-versa. When you need things to be eliminated (debt, recession, hot water), you need a liberal.

What, you thought I’d make a post without some sort of cynical jab at the forces of evil that have destroyed this nation? It’ll be a cold day in hell…
