National Guard Chinook Loses Door

A CH-47 “Chinook” helicopter somehow lost a door while in flight at 1500 feet yesterday, not far from Saint Paul. In military parlance, apparently, “the door exited the aircraft” somewhat unexpectedly. Gotta hate when that happens.

Happily, nobody was injured, no damage was caused (other than to the door, one presumes), and the door itself was recovered earlier today. An investigation is apparently ongoing…
