It’s a Miracle!

Reading the St. Paul Pioneer Press this morning, my attention was grabbed by a headline in the local “St. Paul” section. That, of course, is the purpose of headlines - to grab readers’ attention. However, I’m not sure this one worked quite as the paper might have intended:

Boy’s condition improves after second-story fall

Not to sound too much like a pedant, or a Grammar Nazi(tm), but there are at least a few better ways to phrase that headline…

The article isn’t online, for whatever reason, only in the dead-tree edition. It always confuses me when they do that; surely the website should contain stuff they couldn’t fit in the print edition - rather than the print edition containing stuff they couldn’t fit on the website. Ah, well…
