Two Years for Qwest Vandal

Ian McCombs was sentenced the other day to two years in jail for his part in last year’s vandalism of Qwest telephone pedestals, which disrupted phone and internet service to thousands. Assuming good behavior – and typically lenient handling of his still-unresolved parole violations – whose original offenses had “stayed” terms of 21 and 33 months incarceration – he’ll probably be out in half that, and back to his usual tricks.

Well, on the bright side, he’ll almost certainly be in jail during the RNC convention this September, so I suppose he’s one less potential problem authorities have to worry about…
