Keeping Track of What’s Really Important to People

“Wis. Woman Gives Birth”, reads one of today’s headlines on the Pioneer Press website, “in 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass”. It’s not exactly groundbreaking news, mind you, but it struck me as amusing that the Associated Press story includes all the usual biographic details of everyone mentioned, just as you’d expect – except for the ever-fascinating height and weight of the newborn herself – something, I assume, many more people would actually be interested in knowing, than the fact she came into this world in a 1997 Cutlass. Maybe people have different priorities over in Wisconsin?
