SIP Forwarding to PSTN

A quick VOIP trick, useful if you need to forward to (or call!) a PSTN telephone number and your softphone, ATA, or whatever expects a full SIP address: With VOIP, a PSTN number – like (800)555-8355 – is actually “sip:8005558355@your.sip.server”. (Depending on your provider, obviously, it might be 18005558355@your.sip.server, or 0018005558355@your.sip.server…) Just something to keep in mind if you’re ever trying to connect to the PSTN, but can only “dial” a SIP address.
