Condom Sizes

Some somewhat cheering news, unless you happen to be from India, courtesy of the BBC - an estimated half the male population there have manhoods shorter than international standards, leading to a need for smaller-sized condoms.

It’s definately good that they’ve addressed this issue, for many reasons, not least of which is because it brings to light the old adage “it’s not the size, it’s what you do with it”. Too, telling (I infer) the men of one of the most populous nations on the planet “hey, cheer up, it’s not you, you’re just genetically predisposed to moderate under-endowment” might well go a long ways to improving self-esteem across the nation.

It raises some questions, though; what exactly *are* the “international standards for condoms”, as far as measurement goes - and when, and by whom, were they standardized? And what kind of international standard, anyway? ISO? Are there standards for ribs, nubs, and all the other non-vanilla flavours? And what of the literal flavours? Are there standards for strawberry flavouring in contraceptive devices?

Somewhat bored enquiring minds want to know!
