Indian MREs?

Picked up a box of mutter paneer “micro curry” at the store today, from an Indian company called “Swad”, distributed here by Raja Foods. Good stuff, if you like curry, but packaged oddly.

It comes premade, in a large plastic pouch inside a box. One removes the (dark green-brown) pouch, then cuts a slit in it and microwaves it for a few minutes, or boils it for a few minutes in water, then opens and serves.

It’s tasty and filling; kosher and preservative-free, which is all good. It’s just the packaging makes me swear I’m eating an Indian army MRE (Meal, Ready-to-Eat). Go figure.
